And this is how Squid Game Season 2 ends:

In the “Round and Round” game, 100 survivors remain. While some hope for the game to end, the prize money, which has now grown to 35.6 billion won, has sparked an even split in opinions: 50% want the game to continue, while the other 50% demand its termination. The following day, a second vote is conducted, but the conflict between the two factions deepens.

In this phase, players are marked with ○ or × on the right side of their tracksuits to identify their respective sides, further escalating the tension.

Things take a turn for the worse when a heated argument in the restroom escalates into a physical altercation, eventually becoming a bloody massacre. The survivors, consumed by paranoia, begin blaming one another. The conflict between those advocating to continue the game and those fighting to stop it spirals into an all-out war.

Amid this chaos, Gi-hun proposes an alternative: rather than fighting each other, they should take the chance to attack the game’s operators. Oh Young-il supports Gi-hun’s idea, and De-ho and Jeong-bae also join forces. As the violent clashes between the factions unfold, game staff members enter the dormitory to deal with the casualties. Gi-hun and his allies seize this moment, overpower the staff, and steal their weapons, leading to an intense battle against the operators.

Under the guidance of Hyun-joo, a former Special Forces operative, Gi-hun and Jeong-bae manage to reach the door leading to the Front Man. However, in a shocking twist, Young-il is revealed to have betrayed them and sided with the Front Man. In a devastating moment, Young-il shoots and kills Jeong-bae. Witnessing his trusted friend turn against him and watching Jeong-bae die, Gi-hun collapses in despair.

This is how the final episode of Squid Game Season 2 ends. Many fans who had eagerly anticipated the sequel, expecting the same level of tension as Season 1, expressed disappointment. Critics argued that the story became overly dramatic, escalating from verbal arguments to physical violence and even gunfights.
